The Natural Bean Journey
Grown between 1,800–2,000 meters above sea level, this coffee comes from the Mofa Washing Station in Sidama, Ethiopia—a hub that brings together over 740 smallholder farmers from surrounding villages like Sagara, Hache, and Wacho. The name “Mofa” means “to assemble and set aside,” a nod to the region’s proud Sidamic heritage.
At harvest, ripe cherries from heirloom Ethiopian varieties are hand-delivered to the station, sorted for quality, and laid out on raised drying beds to bask in the sun for 8–25 days. This natural process enhances the coffee’s fruity sweetness, while the high elevation and rich soil nurture its distinctive, syrupy body and layered complexity.
The result is a cup that’s both comforting and vibrant sweet, creamy, and bursting with tropical fruit character. A true taste of Sidama’s artistry, crafted by generations of farmers who’ve perfected the balance between nature, tradition, and flavour.
